Be a "Friend of the Fest"
Each Fest costs about $15,000 to produce. Fortunately, about $10,000 is covered through in in-kind services and volunteer labor, so our ‘cash’ cost is only about $5,000.
Of that, about $3,000 is used to pay performers, about $1,000 pays for advertising and about $1,000 pays for insurance, port-a-potties, postage and other fest expenses.
We fund those expenses from several sources: each month we collect about $1,700 from vendors, and net about $1,000 from beer, wine and soda sales, and about $600 in button donations, and another $1,700 from fund raising, for a total of $5,000. Which means that we practically break-even each month.
While it’s exciting to live so close to the edge, we know that many, many festival goers would be happy to make a small contribution to support all of this volunteer work. We know that you’ll be proud to see your name listed as a "Friend of the Fest".
It's easy - all you have to do is drop us a note and enclose a check for $20 make out to WRI (Willimantic Renaissance Inc.)
