The Ivy Leaf

Initially formed by Lindsay Straw (bouzouki, guitar, vocals) as a way to explore her own interest in the interconnected streams of folk music in Ireland, Britain, and America, the Ivy Leaf is now a young stalwart of traditional Irish music in Boston & Providence, featuring Armand Aromin (fiddle, concertina, vocals, whistle), Dan Accardi (fiddle, concertina, accordion), and Benedict Gagliardi (concertina, harmonica). The members' diverse backgrounds in Berklee College of Music, All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil competitions, and the rich Irish culture of Boston combine to produce a sound that is "vibrant and sure-footed, and tailored to fully reveal each tune's character and personality" (Sean Smith, Boston Irish Reporter). The Ivy Leaf has been featured at prestigious local venues such as Club Passim in Cambridge, the Irish Ceilidh Club of Rhode Island, the Boston Irish Festival, and the New England Folk Festival.
